Silent Future

While I have never owned a Porsche (I did recently move to the P car capital of the U.S. in Atlanta so that might have to change), I have a huge appreciation for their owner base. They are by far the most die-hard group of enthusiasts I have ever come across. Elizabeth and Andrew from the skyward bound ITSWHITENOISE movement (They had me at all caps everything) were no different. After squaring away a shoot at a Shift S3ctor event where they came, they saw and they figuratively popped our E-cherry with the ITSWHITENOISE 918 Spyder, I knew it was time to put some ideas to work. After a sunset romp in the traffic riddled Hollywood Hills, out came the new lighting toys for some visual experimentation. HYPRCRED to my wife (Uprisingimagery.com) for setting up lighting and her flawless stunt driving. By flawless I mean she didn't kill me.

Shooting rear facing rollers with a 918 isn't too tough on a two lane road. Shooting forward facing rollers out of a sunroof trying to maintain speed with a four million jiggawatt, flux capacitating hypercar is another story.

Brief smooth moment before the tail gate love tapped my lens hood on a dip. Craigslist be like "Brand new, never used..."

I absolutely hate photos with random traffic in them. I removed two oncoming cars from this picture. Doesn't feel as death-defying now.
Picture
... and here's a photo with random traffic in it. Didn't want a shoot on a Friday afternoon in Hollywood to feel too surreal.

"meep, meep" Thank you local concerned citizen for your out of pocket Wile E. Coyote esque caution sign.

If you don't know, now you know.

It is a hypercar after all...

Gadget wizardry overload

The most appropriate song in the history of this particular shoot, ever.

Has anyone ever told you how pretty and symmetrical your nostrils are?

Elizabeth, Andrew and Porsche were able to sync up and secure 918 number 84. This happens to be the same production number as their Carrera GT. And yes Batman, it is black as well.

King of the Monsters

While tagging along doing some photo work at Shift S3ctor Airstrip Attack 8 in Coalinga, CA I had a chance to peel away a couple friends from hitting 200 mph in the half mile in their 1300hp SP Engineering R35 GT-Rs to shoot their new GT-R Nismos on one of the unused, uninhabited runways. Both colors are rare versions of the already scarce Nismo. The Solid Red was one of only three 2015s produced in the U.S. The Super Silver was one of a mere seven. Both were equipped with the optional and incredibly beautiful Titanium exhaust specific to the Nismo. One of seven wasn't rare enough for the owner of the Super Silver. He now happens to be the owner of the ONLY N-Attack Nismo in the U.S. and it is in the proper Nismo specific Matte Grey. Work was completed by Stillen, the only authorized N-Attack dealer in the U.S. Hopefully there will be a King of the Monsters Part II post in the future... Now onto the images.

Mother nature cooperated at the right times and left us documenting the day with some beautifully (uncommon) cloud cover.
Picture
Nissan's take on silver is as close to the T1000 Terminator as I've seen. The liquidity provides some some highly reflective depth and the full Kevlar-backed carbon bumper/ diffuser combo with accented red stripe set it off perfectly.
Picture
Now, here's where the Nismo gets some much needed intimidation. The rear carbon bumper and distinct Nismo wing square off the refreshed design. Previously mentioned Titanium specific tips set off the lower diffuser section.
Picture
The 2015 fan appointed "Thunderbolt" headlight and tri-LED setup gives the front end an arachnid feel setting it apart and provide a distinct reminder who is about to overtake you.
Picture
Nismo really nailed it with these classic six spoke wheels wearing a proudly emblazoned Nismo emblem.
Picture
What would a HYPRSHOOT be without hanging out of the back of my FX35 for some rollers.
Picture
I've grown to live with pebble torpedoes, unignited exhaust fumes and unforgiving bumps in the road while supermanning feet from the pillowy pavement.
Picture
And yes, they both had a 1/2 mile dig trapping in the 160s, but for the sake of internet folklore, I won't disclose which the faster color was...
